MAIS Admission Requirements

Applicants need
  • Undergraduate and/or graduate official and final transcripts.
  • Statement (see next section).
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • 2 professional or academic references.
  • One-page resume or CV.
  • Application fee (this can be waived or deferred, if you qualify).
  • English language proficiency exam scores are also required for non-native English-speaking applicants.

Applicants still completing their bachelor's degree may upload their own copies of their current transcripts, and these will be considered unofficial. Upon graduation, official transcripts showing degree conferral must be sent directly to the UNI Office of Admissions. Admission will be in consultation with Graduate College coordinator and faculty advisors from areas of interest and a plan of study will be devised accordingly.

Applicant Statement

Your statement must be a 500-word narrative indicating the personal and professional objectives sought to be accomplished with this program. Indicate how the experiences encountered in your life and/or career align with the fields of inquiry selected as part of your program.
