Jennifer Ostwinkle and Sharna Thomason, History Graduate Assistants at the UNI Museums, helped to organize thousands of historic Iowa rural school records in the fall semester of 2007. These records, some dating back to the 1850's, were recently donated from nearly 12,000 country schools all over the state of Iowa and contain a wealth of information. Both Ostwinkle and Thomason helped compile records in order to assist faculty and student researchers, as well as public genealogists, in their research and study of the rich history of education in Iowa.
