Graduate College Hosts May Graduation Reception The Graduate College invites all graduate students and faculty to enjoy music, refreshments, and fellowship at the May Graduation Reception. Friday, May 4 3:30-5:30 p.m. VooDoo Lounge, Bourbon Street Restaurant 314 Main Street (upstairs),downtown Cedar Falls Graduating graduate students will receive a congratulatory gift! Soda and cake will be provided. Invitations have been sent to all graduating graduate students, but all graduate students are invited to attend. Congratulations to our Graduates! _______________________________________________ Free GRE Workshops During Summer and Fall If you are planning to re-take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) General Test before you apply to doctoral programs, brush up on your skills with a free 4-week course. The Department of Academic Services offers courses for the quantitative and verbal sections of the test. Dean Koch Bids Farewell As dean of the UNI Graduate College and UNI faculty member since 1983, Susan Koch has made a difference at the university and in the lives of many students. This summer she will begin a new position as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Northern Michigan University. She looks back on her years at UNI and students remember her dedication and celebrate her accomplishments. ___________________________________________________________________ President Allen Addresses Graduate Education Issues UNI President Ben Allen invited the members of the Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB) for a special luncheon. The GSAB used this opportunity to give feedback and express concerns to President Allen from a graduate student perspective. President Allen discussed his views on graduate education and answered questions from the graduate students attending. ___________________________________________________________________ Graduate Student Appreciation Week Recap Graduate Student Appreciation Week, April 2-6, was a success with a reception, panel discussion, and booth sponsored by the Graduate College. In addition, individual departments showed their appreciation to students through treats, lunches, and receptions.
