After 40 years of working at UNI, Mary Ann Hesse has retired. Beginning her career in 1972 at the circulation department in the library, Mary Ann moved to the Mathematics Department 11 months later.
After eight years she was then promoted to Secretary IV in the Graduate College, the highest secretary classification one can achieve. There, for the past 31 years, Mary Ann was responsible for fiscal/budget management for the Graduate Assistant Stipend and Graduate Tuition Scholarship funds.
Mary Ann stated that she will miss the people she worked with here at UNI. She will be missed by her colleagues here in the Graduate College as well.

In her newly found free time, Mary Ann plans to enjoy spending more time with her husband, three grown children, and six grandchilden.
