My name is Shyla Deutmeyer. I was born and raised on a farm outside of Dyersville, Iowa. I am the youngest of six children. My hobbies include hanging out with all 9 of my nieces and nephews, and giving them a lot of attention. I began my college experience at Kirkwood Community College. After two years at Kirkwood, I transferred to UNI to receive my bachelors degree in Special Education Moderate/Severe/Profound. I received my bachelors in May 2004, and decided to continue my educational experience and am currently working toward receiving my masters in Career/Vocational Programming with a Transition Emphasis in Special Education. I plan to use my college experiences to teach individuals with disabilities, and someday teach at the college level.
