I was born and raised in Nevada, Missouri, and moved to Iowa to attend Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, for my undergraduate degree. I graduated from Cornell in 2001 with a triple major in Communications, Political Science, and Sociology. After graduation, I worked in Student Affairs for two years at Cornell College before beginning my graduate work at UNI. I am in my second year of graduate work at UNI and am working toward an MA in Communication Studies. In addition to taking classes, I am also a graduate assistant. I teach one section of Oral Communication every semester and act as a coach for the UNI Speech Team. After graduation in May, I plan to pursue my PhD in Communication Studies and hope to teach full-time one day at a university.
