Graduate Student Advisory Board

To form a more cohesive graduate community and give graduate students a voice in decisions that affect them, the Graduate College formed the Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB). GSAB members work with graduate students in all programs in order to make recommendations on policies and contribute ideas on how to build a graduate student community.Some past initiatives of the GSAB include: Sponsored graduate student orientation Participated in discussions with President Allen Hosted graduation celebrations Created Graduate Student Social Network Promoted graduate education through UNI events and local college career fairs Organized Graduate Student Appreciation Week events Established graduate student Executive Cabinet position with Northern Iowa Student Government Established Graduate College Ambassadors Program to welcome new graduate students Sponsored educational development programs specific for graduate students Created shirt specifically for graduate students and faculty (available at University Book & Supply) For more information on the GSAB, contact Katie Kuker at kkuker@uni.edu or 319-273-2748.
